Lefties lands at Liverpool ONE for UK debut

Inditex’s budget fashion and lifestyle brand Lefties, a sister brand of ZARA and a competitor of Primark, has now opened its highly anticipated 27,000 sq ft flagship store on South John Street at Liverpool ONE, marking the brand’s UK retail debut.

The new store spans two floors, showcasing womenswear, menswear, kidswear, babywear, footwear, accessories and homeware.

The flagship also features some of the brand’s latest retail technology, already introduced at recent European openings, including robotic hanger sorters and radio-frequency identification (RFID) self-checkouts, which remove the need to scan each item separately.

The Liverpool ONE opening will be followed by a second UK store at the Lakeside shopping centre in West Thurrock, Essex, in early October, and a third at Gateshead’s Metrocentre in November.

Lefties’ arrival builds on Liverpool ONE landlord Landsec’s long-standing relationship with Inditex and the continued success of its brands, including Zara, Bershka, Pull&Bear and Stradivarius, at the destination.

Pablo Sueiras, Head of Retail & Hospitality Leasing at Landsec, said: “Lefties making its UK debut at Liverpool ONE is a significant milestone for the destination and highlights its continued appeal to retailers looking to establish themselves in the UK market.

“Lefties’ arrival builds on our long-standing relationship with Inditex and the success of its existing brands at Liverpool ONE. It also reflects the confidence global retailers have in the destination’s ability to deliver the scale, visibility and highly engaged customer base needed to support long-term growth.”

Lefties’ UK debut builds on Liverpool ONE’s track record of attracting flagship and UK-first concepts, with recent arrivals including Salomon, Arne and Montirex.

Lefties was founded in 1999 and launched its own-brand collections over a decade ago. It has its own headquarters just outside Barcelona, with commercial and design teams who “aim to bring accessible quality fashion to its customers”.
