True Fit, the leading AI platform that decodes size and fit for online customers, has today announced a partnership with Shopify, the e-commerce platform builder, to bring AI fit personalisation to merchants of any and all sizes.
Shopify merchants can now connect their brand to True Fit’s Fashion Genome, the broadest and richest globally connected apparel shopping platform, to build confidence in the buying journey and reduce fit-related returns. In turn, this promotes a sustainable business model and avoids clothing ending up in landfills.
True Fit currently boasts 82 million active users including thousands of brands and hundreds of retailers globally across all categories. As Shopify’s merchants grow, they can leverage True Fit’s full strategic platform of offerings, including solutions to improve the cost of shopper acquisition.
William Adler, President and CEO of True Fit, commented: “This is a very exciting moment for the $2.5tr apparel industry, which historically has remained digitally constrained around 20-25% digital. By opening up the power of the Fashion Genome’s machine learning and artificial intelligence data engine to merchants of all sizes on the Shopify platform, we will accelerate merchant growth through frictionless digital discovery and consumption.”
“It is our mission to democratise access to the Fashion Genome and artificial intelligence widely across the industry, helping millions of consumers connect to the brands they love.”
This news comes in the wake of Shopify’s job cuts. Just last month, the company announced a 10% cut in its workforce following a decline in demand for online shopping post-pandemic.
The decision will impact approximately 1,000 employees, with roles affected across recruiting, support and sales. The company attributes some of the job losses to roles that were over-specialised or duplicated and groups that were “convenient to have but too far removed from building products”.
