Dior will stage its pre-fall 2027 show at Trinity College Dublin on 4 December 2026, marking the French fashion house’s first runway presentation in Ireland.
Jonathan Anderson will unveil the collection at the university’s Old Library. The event will also be the Northern Irish designer’s first fashion show in the country.
Dior said: “The collection will be unveiled against the backdrop of the university’s Old Library, an 18th-century building housing a world-class academic and cultural resource.”
The Dublin presentation follows Anderson’s Dior autumn/winter 2026/27 haute couture show in Paris. Since taking creative control of the house’s menswear, womenswear and couture divisions, he has become the first designer since Christian Dior to oversee all three.
Anderson presented his first Dior haute couture collection at Paris Couture Week in January 2026.
Anderson’s Dublin fashion roots
The show brings Anderson back to the city where he started working in fashion. His first role in the industry was at Dublin department store Brown Thomas, while his J.W. Anderson label has previously collaborated with Irish brewer Guinness.
In a social media post Anderson shared that he was “so excited and so proud” to be able to show the collection at Ireland’s oldest university.
“Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal,” he added.
“To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting – at an institution with such an important cultural history – is a real honour.”
The Old Library is set for its first major renovation in over 300 years. Trinity College’s redevelopment timetable says the building and its Long Room will remain open to visitors until the end of 2027, when restoration and construction work is scheduled to begin.
The project covers structural and environmental upgrades alongside the conservation of the building, manuscripts and research collections. It will also create a Research Collections Study Centre and redesign the exhibition of the library’s treasures.
Dior changes its pre-fall presentation schedule
The December runway marks a change from Dior’s pre-fall format under Anderson’s predecessor, Maria Grazia Chiuri. During her tenure, the house released its pre-fall collections through look books in December before staging travelling runway shows around their arrival in stores.
Dior’s last pre-fall runway presentation took place in Kyoto in April 2025. The house has not provided a reason for the scheduling change.
The Dublin location also links Dior to Carmel Snow, the Dublin-born former editor-in-chief of the US edition of Harper’s Bazaar. According to the Women’s Museum of Ireland, Snow came up with the term ‘New Look’ after she saw Christian Dior’s debut collection in 1947.
Anderson’s save-the-date combines Snow’s description of Dior’s work with a four-leaf clover, an emblem the designer has used during his tenure at the house.
