Gymshark continues to add to its executive team with founder and Chief Executive Ben Francis MBE announcing that Matt Rogers, the brand’s Global Supply Chain Director, has been promoted to the position of Chief Supply Chain Officer.
“Since joining Gymshark in 2023 as our Supply Chain Director, Matt has made a huge impact,” Francis shared in a LinkedIn post.
“Over the past few years, he’s helped strengthen and evolve our supply chain and more recently, has done an outstanding job leading the function as Interim General Manager for Sourcing and Supply Chain.”
“Matt has consistently demonstrated the leadership, judgement and ambition needed to build a supply chain that’s ready for the next chapter of Gymshark.
This marks the second appointment to Gymshark’s senior leadership team this month. The brand appointed former Boden Executive Shaun Perkinson to lead its technology function as Chief Technology Officer.
Perkinson took over the position from John Douglas, who joined Gymshark five years ago and was looking to retire.
Francis had also announced Perkinson’s appointment on LinkedIn, highlighting the 20 years of experience he is bringing to the CTO role, and in particular his “combination of technical expertise, commercial instinct and collaborative approach”.
“Technology will continue to play a pivotal role in helping us create better experiences for our community and supporting the next stage of our growth. Shaun joins us at an exciting time and I’m confident we’ll do great things together,” Francis added.
Both appointments followed the announcement that Francis was in negotiations to buy back part of the 21% stake held by US private equity firm General Atlantic, according to reports by the Financial Times.
Francis, who still owns a majority stake in the company he founded out of his parents’ garage in 2012, is now looking to further tighten his control over the company.
Sources told the publication that while Francis had considered buying back the entirety of the General Atlantic stake, he is more likely to buy part of it.
