Footwear and accessories retailer Kurt Geiger is launching a free digital learning programme called ‘Business by Design Online’ on 1 September.
It will coincide with the start of the British Fashion Council’s ‘Fashion Britain’ events, running throughout September 2026.
Building on the success of the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation’s award-winning Business by Design Academy, the Kindness Foundation has developed the new digital programme in response to growing demand beyond London, with the aim to “make fashion knowledge accessible to everyone”.
Created by fashion industry professionals, Business by Design Online will offer “an invaluable front-row seat” to the people shaping the world of fashion in an industry that can often feel out of reach to many.
Combining bite-sized learning, engaging video content, interactive challenges and real industry case studies, the self-paced programme will explore every stage of the fashion journey, from design and buying to product development, marketing, retail, social media and digital.
Learners will also gain exclusive access to live masterclasses and webinars with leading designers, creative directors, celebrity stylists and industry experts, providing unique insight into the careers, creativity and commercial thinking behind today’s global fashion industry.
Neil Clifford, CEO of Kurt Geiger, said: “As a patron of the British Fashion Council, Kurt Geiger will launch the Business by Design Online course at the British Fashion Council’s ‘Fashion Britain’ events, which are taking place throughout September 2026 across the UK.
“Fashion Britain shares the Business by Design Academy’s ambition to broaden access to the fashion industry by decentralising opportunity and widening participation, helping to build a more inclusive, diverse and resilient future for British fashion.
“The Business by Design education team will also be on hand at each event to answer questions, demonstrate the platform and help young future professionals take their first steps on their digital learning journey.”
Laura Weir, CEO of British Fashion Council, added: “Fashion has the power to create opportunity, but for too long, access to our industry has depended on where you live, who you know or whether you can afford to take part.
“Through Fashion Britain, we are committed to opening up pathways into fashion across the UK, connecting more people with the knowledge, networks and opportunities they need to build a career in our industry.
“Business by Design Online is a brilliant example of that shared ambition in action. By making high-quality, industry-led learning freely available to anyone, anywhere, the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation is helping to remove barriers and inspire the next generation of creative talent.
“We’re proud to support its launch through Fashion Britain and to work alongside partners who share our belief that talent exists everywhere and opportunity should too.”
