Purdey to launch two-month pop-up at Harrods

Heritage British outdoor and country lifestyle brand Purdey is launching a pop-up in the menswear designer collections area on the second floor of Harrods in London’s Knightsbridge, set to run from 7 September to 8 November 2026.

The space will offer a curated edit of the most iconic Purdey products, combining pieces from the ‘Sporting Collection’, the ‘Global Sporting Range’ and the ‘Lifestyle Collection’.

Highlights will include the new ‘Kalahari’ jacket, a number of pieces incorporating the brand’s technical tweeds, the new lightweight luggage collection, the high-performance ‘Vatersay’ cape, a selection of polo shirts, and a range of accessories including caps, scarves, socks and ties.

Dan Jago, CEO of Purdey, said: “More than merely a pop-up store, I consider this endeavour a meeting of minds, a collaboration between two bastions of British culture. Harrods is, needless to say, the world’s preeminent luxury department store, so for Purdey to be given an opportunity to showcase our wares in such inimitable surroundings it is indeed an honour.

“Likewise, Purdey has become one of the foremost names in field sports and country pursuits. Our brands were born just 20 years apart, and over the past two centuries have come to redefine the notion of rarefied craftsmanship.”

James Purdey & Sons, now known as Purdey, was established in London in 1814 and soon became one of the world’s most renowned bespoke gunmakers. Steeped in history, the brand has long enjoyed the patronage of the Royal Family, receiving its first Royal Warrant from the Prince of Wales (who later became Edward VII) in 1868, and every succeeding British monarch since.

Purdey, which is these days owned by Swiss luxury goods group Richemont, which acquired the brand in 1994, began making clothing and accessories in 1974 and has since expanded into technical outerwear, innovative tailoring and luxurious knits “that bring the spirit of the field into everyday life”.

Purdey at Harrods will mirror the timeless aesthetic of Audley House at 57-58 South Audley Street in London’s Mayfair, described as “the spiritual home of Purdey”, offering a window into the brand’s creative direction and inspirational legacy.

For those hoping to discover the guns and rifles upon which Purdey has been built, or for a deeper dive into the brand’s clothing and accessories, the Purdey team will be only too happy to help arrange a visit to Audley House.
