Tommy Hilfiger returned to New York Fashion Week with a collection that revisited the preppy styles that helped make his label a household name during the Eighties and Nineties.
Red, white and navy – colours synonymous with the Tommy Hilfiger brand – ran throughout the collection, appearing across oversized tailoring, rugby shirts, polo tops and relaxed separates.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid opened the show, wearing an oversized beige blazer with padded shoulders, a white T-shirt and loose-fitting tomato-red trousers.
The 31-year-old model topped off the look with a navy bucket hat, while carrying a dark clutch tucked under one arm.

The show took place inside the famed Plaza Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, where Hilfiger and his wife Dee Ocleppo previously owned a penthouse.
The designer described the collection as “modern prep”, with archival pieces reworked for a contemporary audience.
Classic rugby shirts were updated in silk, while sailing jackets incorporated suede detailing and Nineties-inspired plaid appeared across menswear and womenswear.
The styling also hinted at the return of some divisive preppy trends, with models sporting popped collars and multiple polo shirts layered on top of one another.

Among the collection’s more nostalgic pieces was a long white dress printed with a recreation of Hilfiger’s famous 1985 Times Square billboard, which positioned him alongside American designers Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis and Calvin Klein.

Romeo Beckham closed the star-studded show at Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel. The 24-year-old son of former England footballer Sir David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham walked the runway in a red, green and navy plaid jacket layered over a striped shirt and loosely knotted navy tie.
He completed the preppy look with layered necklaces and a small hoop earring as he closed Hilfiger’s spring/summer 2027 show on Thursday.
It marked another high-profile modelling appearance for Beckham, who also walked the autumn/winter runway during London Fashion Week in February.

American singer Slayyyter then performed for the finale, taking to the runway with a microphone in a bright red shirt and black shorts.

Hilfiger brought proceedings to a close in characteristically playful fashion, running down the catwalk behind his fluffy white dog, which he held on a red lead, before waving to the crowd.
