Clarks Originals moves beyond footwear with first apparel collection

British heritage footwear brand Clarks has extended its Originals label into clothing and accessories, launching its first global non-footwear collection.

The unisex range comprises T-shirts, baseball caps, socks and a sticker pack. Available through selected Clarks stores and Clarks.com, the launch gives Clarks Originals a presence beyond its established footwear offer while retaining the brand’s existing visual identity.

The collection centres on seven T-shirt colourways featuring Wallabee and Desert Trek illustrations sourced from the Clarks archive, which contains more than 22,000 pairs of shoes.

The Wallabee Family graphic, first used by the brand in the late 1960s, appears across four colourways. The illustration depicts a family walking a Wallabee and is accompanied by the slogan, “The Whole Family Enjoys Walking in Wallabees”.

Other T-shirts feature Trek Man, the character introduced in the early 1970s alongside the Desert Trek and known to many people in Jamaica as the “Bank Robber”. The heavyweight-cotton T-shirts have boxy fits and large illustrative graphics across the back, with colourways including blue, green, burgundy and brown.

The logo caps draw on a retro Clarks design rediscovered by the company’s design team at a US vintage market. The soft-structured, curved-peak styles feature embroidered branding, while the heavyweight socks carry Wallabee and Trek Man graphics.

The launch comes after Clarks first signalled the expansion during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in January 2026, when it presented T-shirts, caps and socks as part of its spring/summer offer.

It also comes during a wider period of investment for Clarks, which was founded in Somerset in 1825 and is now active across more than 100 markets through its retail operations, wholesale business, franchise network and online channels.

Clarks recorded a £66.3 million operating profit in 2025 and ended the year with no bank debt. As covered in TheIndustry.fashion’s report on its European expansion, the company’s 2026 plan calls for 15 to 20 stores to open across the continent.

The business has also added 120 new accounts to its multi-brand wholesale operation across Europe and the UK for autumn/winter 2026. Its Italian wholesale orders for the season were 55% higher than for AW25, alongside new stores and further planned openings in France, Belgium and the UK.
