Donatella Versace and Revolve launch fashion and beauty joint venture

Donatella Versace is launching a fashion and beauty business with US digital fashion retailer Revolve Group, taking the role of Chief Creative Officer in the new joint venture.

The venture will launch its beauty business first, with a name and initial products due to be announced in the coming months. Its initial markets will be the US, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

The new joint venture has not disclosed when fashion products will follow its opening beauty launch.

Revolve said the business will pair product development with a digital-first environment designed for customer participation as well as shopping, combining Versace’s creative direction and cultural profile with Revolve’s technology, consumer data, operating infrastructure and direct access to millions of shoppers.

“I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive and alive in the world,” Versace said in an announcement on Instagram.

“I have always been inspired by the next generation, in music, film, art and, of course, fashion. This partnership gives me the freedom to speak to that generation in a completely new and personal way, through beauty and fashion.

“Revolve understands something I believe deeply: culture comes from connection. Together, we want to create that connection with a new voice, a new look and a new energy.”

Revolve brings its digital platform to the venture

Revolve describes itself as a premium lifestyle retailer for Millennial and Generation Z consumers, with the group offering apparel and footwear styles from over 1,400 brands across its Revolve and luxury fashion-focused FWRD retail businesses.

Its online platform carries more than 110,000 products spanning clothing, footwear, accessories and beauty from emerging, established and owned brands, supported by technology, data analytics and influencer-led marketing.

“Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time,” Revolve Group co-founder and co-CEO Michael Mente said. “This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up.”

The joint venture expands Revolve’s existing brand-development activity, which includes a partnership with Cardi B and Revolve Los Angeles, the luxury fashion label created with Bella Hadid as ambassador. Its owned labels also include Helsa and Camila Coelho.

Revolve is launching the venture following double-digit growth across both operating segments. Second-quarter net sales rose 12% year on year to $347.4 million, while active customers reached 3.041 million for the 12 months ended 30 June 2026.

International net sales increased 16% to $78.4 million during the quarter. The group held $311.6 million in cash and cash equivalents at the period end and remained debt-free.

Donatella Versace builds outside the Versace house

The partnership gives Versace a new creative and commercial base after she stepped down from her design role at the Versace fashion house in March 2025, following nearly three decades in the role. She subsequently became Chief Brand Ambassador.

Prada Group acquired the fashion house from Capri Holdings in December 2025 for an enterprise value of €1.25 billion. It has since undergone further leadership changes during its integration, including the appointment of Pieter Mulier as Chief Creative Officer in July 2026 and the departure of CEO Emmanuel Gintzburger in June.
