Footasylum reports record revenue as UK and international expansion accelerates

Footasylum has reported record revenue of £352.5 million for the 53 weeks to 31 January 2026, up 0.9%, while EBITDA fell 22.5% to £38.5 million amid a weaker consumer backdrop, increased promotional activity and higher UK employment costs.

The clothing and footwear retailer opened six stores during the year, bringing its UK estate to 67 locations. It is continuing to expand, with new stores planned in Glasgow, Leeds and Merthyr Tydfil, alongside upgrades to its Manchester Trafford Centre and Arndale locations.

Internationally, the business is also preparing to open its first stores outside the UK through its partnership with Apparel Group. The deal will see around 40 stores planned across the Middle East over five years, with the first opening at Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi in December, followed by Al Shubaily Grand Mall in Saudi Arabia in January 2027.

Footasylum said ASICS, Berghaus and Trailberg were among its strongest-performing brands during the year, while Hoka was also added to its offering.

Since the year-end, the retailer has entered a strategic partnership with Trapstar, with the brand set to relaunch in early November.

Elsewhere, Footasylum has completed the installation of AutoStore warehouse automation with THG Fulfil, in what it described as the largest capital investment in its history. The system is expected to increase fulfilment capacity and efficiency as the business continues to grow.

Chief Executive Officer Hannah Mercer joined the business in May from Gymshark, having previously held roles at Adidas and Nike.

Chief Financial Officer Howard Tattersall said: “FY26 was another year of progress for Footasylum, with record revenue achieved despite a challenging consumer environment and increased promotional activity across the market.”

He added that the business remained focused on “full-price trading, cost discipline and long-term investment” as it continues its UK and international expansion.

The results follow the departure of Vice President of International Dan Moneypenny earlier this month. Moneypenny joined Footasylum in 2023 and was promoted to the international role in November 2025, having been involved in the retailer’s Apparel Group expansion plans.
